Analogue

"I am a Photographer. I stand in front of things and hope"

Analogue Photography is undergoing a revival. Film cameras a few years ago could be picked up in charity shops for a small sum. These days the prices are rising steadily and more film is being produced and available. The number of Film Labs isgrowing as is the availability of home equipment for developing and scanning of negatives and slides.

Currently I am using four analogue cameras. A Canon AE1 Programme (acquired almost free), a 75 year old Zeiss Ikon Nettar, given to me by my father-in-law, a Holga Pinhole35mm camera and an Olympus Trip (acquired almost free). Cameras such as the classic Leica M6 are available for around £2000 plus a lens and this model was re-introduced by Leicaand updated as the interest in analogue photography grows.

Previously I had a Chinon CS5 (£5 in a charity shop and sold for £25) and a Leica MiniZomm (£2 in a charity shop and sold for £140). Who knows one day I might come across a Leica M6 in a similar way!
